Lithuania needed a controlled environment to test real-world digital identity use cases ahead of the EU's 2026 deadline for national EUDI Wallets. The challenge: move fast, stay compliant, and build something that could serve as the foundation for a full national rollout — not just a prototype.
Solution
Following a public procurement process, Lithuania's State Digital Solutions Agency (SDSA) selected Procivis to deliver the national EUDI Wallet sandbox. Built on Procivis One, the sandbox gives Lithuanian citizens, public authorities, and relying parties a production-ready environment to test real use cases — from accessing government services to cross-border travel and car rental. It also supports Lithuania's contribution to LSP Aptitude, one of the EU's Large-scale Pilots for digital identity across sectors.
Result
The 12-month project gives Lithuania hands-on experience with eIDAS 2.0-compliant infrastructure before the mandatory deadline — and a clear path toward the official national wallet launch. For SDSA, it's both a learning environment and a technical head start.
