The e-ID is federal, but most services citizens use are cantonal and communal, from residence confirmations to permits and employee certificates. Procivis One already issues these in Switzerland: Schaffhausen was the first canton to run an eID from Procivis, and the City of Zug was the first authority in the country to issue digital credentials with Procivis One.

swiyu today, eIDAS 2.0 next

Switzerland and the EU are building different stacks: Swiss trust statements and W3C DIDs against EU trusted lists and X.509 certificates. Procivis One runs both through country profiles, so a Swiss issuer keeps a path to eIDAS 2.0 and cross-border use without standing up a second system.

Procivis One covers the whole life of a swiyu credential, from the authority or company that issues it to the citizen who holds it and the verifier who confirms it. One open-source platform, onboarded to the swiyu ecosystem and ready for eIDAS 2.0, so issuance, wallet and verification work as one system instead of three you assemble yourself.

Issue

The issuer creates and issues credentials into the swiyu wallet over OpenID4VCI, using did:webvh identifiers registered in the swiyu Base Registry. Procivis One Desk manages the full credential lifecycle, from design and issuance to suspension, reactivation and revocation, with status published to the registry. A no-code credential designer means a new credential type does not require a development cycle.

Hold

The credential is held in the swiyu wallet, or in the Procivis One Wallet where you need your own branded app or additional credential formats. It sits alongside the citizen's other credentials, protected by the device's biometrics and available offline. The holder controls every presentation and can see the verification status of the issuer before sharing anything.

Verify

Verification takes seconds, online or in person. Procivis One verifies credentials presented from the swiyu wallet, and registration in the swiyu Trust Registry means citizens see your organisation's verified status before they share. The holder presents only the attributes each check requires.
