Personalized waste calendar in the eZug Smart City app

Initial situation  

A recurring problem for the residents of the City of Zug was missing collection dates for recycling and waste. This led to high waste paper piles and full compost bins, which was not only an inconvenience for citizens, but also a burden for the city's waste services.  

Deployment of our solution

The city of Zug responded to this problem with an extension to its eZug Smart City app by integrating a personalized collection calendar. This digital calendar allows users to set individual preferences to receive notifications only for the collection services that are relevant to them. Users can select which types of waste they frequently dispose of and receive reminders for these specific services.  

Result  

Thanks to the new feature in the eZug app, Zug residents can manage their waste disposal more effectively. The push notifications remind users of upcoming collection dates in a timely manner, which has improved compliance with the city's recycling and disposal regulations. This has resulted in a tidier city and more efficient recycling processes.
